The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is pressing forward with competitive bidding of ostomy and urological supplies through less than 10 national suppliers. Tracheostomy supplies will be bid at a later date. 

 

Competitive bidding would rely on the lowest bidder to provide these supplies through a small set of national suppliers, eliminating access to community providers and reducing patient access, choice of product, and quality of care.
